Our hip hop classes focus on musicality along with different qualities of movement. Pupils will work on precision, body awareness and performance. This class will prepare for the commercial dance industry by working on skilled needed to create a stronger, more versatile dancer. The style ranges from smoother groove to energetic hits. Combining the inner groves with accuracy and emotion while exploring the rhythms and lyrics of the music. In the hip hop classes, the music drives the movement.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. There are huge benefits that children and adults can gain from participation in ballet classes. Ballet enhances an individuals physical and mental ability no matter where your career path may lead.
All the ballet classes are taught using classical music and will develop musicality, self expression, poise, grace and elegance.
We are a registered school with Royal Academy of Dance and follow the RAD syllabus. The barre exercises aim to lengthen and tone muscles, develop core strength and improve control co-ordination and balance.
Children and adults who participate in ballet develop excellent posture, confidence and self discipline. These are all attributes that improve an individuals dancing but also their daily lives.
This class will introduce to the fundamentals of alignment, strength, flexibility, rhythm and momentum. From centre exercises to moving through your dance space, you will be challenged both mentally and physically.
Different progressions will be offered so everyone can build on the foundation they bring to class, increasing not only their skills but also their understanding of their own body. Sequences will experiment how you combine the important elements together. Contemporary emphasises placement, breath and musicality.
The Jazz class will combine contemporary jazz, lyrical and traditional jazz. It’s a technical and creative class with the goal of self-improvement. The Jazz warm up focuses on exercises that stretch and condition the body, weight exchange, core work and balances, while using the body in a full range of motion. Dancers build strong technique, and gain greater functional awareness through a jazz structure. Across the floor patterns is a progression of stylized movement, with creative turns, jumps that supports the work in the combination. Each jazz style has a specific intention and focuses on putting technique to work.
Street Jazz class emphasises musicality, performance and dynamics while motivating students to maintain a positive classroom environment. From the warm up to the class combination each song is carefully selected to enable each student to focus on body awareness, confidence and clear execution of movement and learn the musicality of the body movement and the lyrics of the music. This class will encourage students to push past their limits and achieve their goals.

The style collaborates all techniques and styles of dance and technical sharpness. The dancers are free to express their individuality and the elements of the story of the song through unique and challenging combinations that test the abilities through the lyrics of the music.
Musical Theatre is a class that will combine dancing, singing and acting to music from the most popular shows on Broadway and in London’s West End. These classes give students the chance to explore characters through mime and dance which develops performance skills. Musical Theatre encourages dancers to express their unique personality and creative approach to the material.
Flexibility increases movement capacity by removing tightness so you can loosen your limbs. The exercise’s given assists in transporting oxygen to sore muscles and quickly removes toxins from the muscles, so recovery is faster. Strengthening exercise will take ideas of basic Pilates class as well as essential strengthening techniques for a dancer’s body. The exercise focuses on core muscle strength while stretching and strengthening the entire body. With a contemporary approach to strength and flexibility training the effect will give a workout appropriate for all skill levels. The aim of the class is to increase strength, flexibility and join stability.
We have successful competition teams who compete across the UK every year. Auditions are held at the beginning of every year for ages 7 – 17 for our teams.
The teams focus completely on choreography. Using different styles and techniques we ensure the teams are challenged and allow their passion and talent to shine every part of the way. Our teams take part in many different performances across the year and attend workshops with some of the worlds top choreographers.
Acro Dance which is known as Acro is a fantastic class to take part in alongside any sport. The style is very similar to gymnastics but this is taking the equipment away and using your own body. At ‘Live It’ we follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, an established and recognised syllabus. In this class you will work on musicality, expression and flexibility. You will work on and progress your own flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. Our teachers cater the class to benefit any child at any level.
